Breaking cycles of poverty and homelessness in Midcoast Maine
Homelessness is a complex issue with many underlying causes, including systemic origins such as poverty and lack of affordable housing. It is important not to blame individuals for their struggles with housing as this ignores these larger issues and also perpetuates harmful stereotypes. Homeworthy addresses the root causes of homelessness, provides holistic support and resources to people, so they can find stability for themselves and their families.
As the only comprehensive homeless services organization in our ~2000 square mile coverage area, Homeworthy is working to end the cycle of homelessness through innovation and collaboration around affordable housing as well as reaching whole families through our family shelter and youth program.
