Case Manager

Homeworthy is looking for a compassionate team player who wants to join us in our mission to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness in Midcoast Maine. We are currently interviewing for a position on our case management team. As a Case Manager, you will support and advocate for individuals and families who are facing homelessness by collaborating with a large network of community support providers.

Case Managers support clients by advocating for them in the community, helping them to identify needs and goals and connecting them with appropriate community and Homeworthy resources. Case Managers at Homeworthy are part of helping to achieve the agency’s mission on a daily basis. They help to identify and build on strengths, always treat clients with dignity and respect, and ultimately become trusted partners who help clients to reach sustainable independence.

The ideal Case Manager candidate will have social services experience with relevant training in the human service/mental health field. A combined five (5) years of education and experience in providing direct services in social, health, or behavioral health field; OR Current Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C) is required. A BA in social work or a related field is strongly preferred. Knowledge of community resources and services for children and adolescents, a plus.

Shelter Support Staff (12am-8am)

Homeworthy is seeking Shelter Support Staff for our Hospitality House Family Shelter for the hours of 12am-8am/1am-9am. We are looking for a caring team player with an excellent attitude, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to helping families learn to help themselves. The Hospitality House is Homeworthy’s extended-stay family shelter, providing a warm, welcoming home, and sanctuary for community members struggling with homelessness. 

Overnight staff are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter residents. Responsibilities include appropriately managing house conflicts, conducting hourly walkthroughs of the house, assisting with house chores, cooking meals for the house, and helping parents with children as needed. Staff should be comfortable maintaining good boundaries while working with people in crisis, and be respectful of individual differences, resident opinions, and parenting styles. This is a position that requires employees to remain awake for the shift in its entirety. 

 This position requires good judgment, flexibility, the ability to multitask, and must be awake for the entire shift. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience working in residential programs, client support, health and human services, or the medical field is a plus!

This is an entry-level position in a growing and exciting organization with opportunities for advancement for team players who demonstrate commitment, passion, and dedication. Overnight staff are responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all shelter residents. We are looking for a team player with an excellent attitude, a desire to learn and grow, and a commitment to helping families learn to help themselves. Youth and Family Care Coordinator - Lincoln County

The Youth and Family Care Coordinator will serve Lincoln County in collaboration with Stepping Stone Housing, Inc. and is part of helping Homeworthy to achieve its mission on a daily basis. This is a two-year pilot position with the potential to extend. The Care Coordinator is responsible for wrap-around care with housed Stepping Stone families, triage care in collaboration with Stepping Stone staff, and complete intentional outreach work with community youth, resulting in clear and accessible next step recommendations and actions.

The Youth & Family Care Coordinator will support families who are working with Stepping Stone to meet immediate needs, divert to alternative housing solutions, and begin skill development while waiting for a home. We are in search of a kind, professional, and persistent individual who can work independently or work as part of a team. They help to identify and build on strengths, always treat clients with dignity and respect, and ultimately become trusted partners who help clients to reach sustainable independence.

All staff embrace a strength-based, trauma-informed approach to youth development, act as community advocates on behalf of high-risk youth and families, and develop collaborative partnerships and supportive relationships with local partners throughout the Midcoast. We seek caring, honest, creative, and supportive staff members who are collaborative-minded, solutions-oriented, non-judgemental, and capable of maintaining perspective, as well as a sense of humor. Our staff are passionate about working with teenagers and have a proven ability to support others in caring, courageous and inspiring ways.
